What reflections and connections can you make with this novel?

Peace Child gave me a chance to think back about myself; return back to my past, present and future. I was stunned to see the overall change within the Sawi tribe. Due to Don Richardson's faith, the faith of the entire nation changed. I was amazed to see how powerful Don's faith was by changing the lives of the people in the entire tribe. He took the risk to go to the Sawi village and change their faith by putting himself in their culture. He was able to use the Peace Child as Jesus Christ and relate Jesus to the Sawi village. By one man's faith, he was able to change a whole nation and hopefully by me I can change a nation through my faith. The Sawi villagers are like me, because, in the beginning, I couldn't understand faith clearly. But I know that Jesus wants people to spread his words and to share his message and faith to atheists. Because Jesus was able to help others by entering into their lives, we should also spread his words and share his wonderful teachings to those who don't know Him yet.

Julie, I am able to truly see how your faith is relateld to the novel. I am able to relate my self to the novel as well. I really want to try or have the faith as Don Richardson. By having this faith, I would be able to risk my life to spread Christianity. What do you think you can do with your faith later in the future??

Carol, I think it's really impossible for us to go to barbaric group of people in order to spread Christianity like Don Richardson actually. Well, to tell the truth, I would be scared to go live with head-hunters even if God tells me to go there. (that was honest...) But that's truth, even though we believe in "spreading Christianity around the world" and praise Don Richardson & set him as an example, we may only talk about it.

It's so sad that I have no guts to go off to wild places like Don to spread God's words...and I feel shameful

Julie.
I think that ur connection within the book is incomplete. It seems that your percieve only a superficial analysis of the story. Also, you should think of the pros and cons that Don Richardson brought. Of course Don Richardson allowed a way for the Sawi people to acquire peace, but think of the counter effects he brought. He destroyed the originality of the culture and its true nature. Because he did this, certain aspects of the Sawi culture collapsed that were irretrievable and oblivious.

Hey Julie.
Nice analysis. But I think you should think more deeply and elaborate more on your current analysis. Also you should think about the factors that Jaedoo mentioned above. Keep it up and try to improve on your analysis~~~~~~~~! ^-^hahahahaha

Hi Julie, finally, did you realize about your inner-self? Thank God. I'm joking. Anyways, it seems that you truly thought how truth is connected to this novel. However, different from you, I would never have the courage to enter to a barbarian culture and try to lead them with my faith. Actually, I do not have a strong faith also. However, I see that you have one entry right now. Keep up with the good work!

There were times in the book when Don Richardson was greatly encouraged by what seems like pure luck. This supports your statement that it is God’s will for us to go into the ‘uncivilized’ community and spread His words among it. God will support us with His power, if we decide to follow His will. It has happened to Don and Carol Richardson, and I fail to see any reason it would not happen for us.

Excellent comments everyone! Keep chatting - Julie you had an epiphany. It's always important to reflect upon one's own soul. Jaedoo has some interesting points but I do have to say that a culture that prizes treachery; betrayal and endorses Cannibalism need to change. I wonder what Yae would say about the Sawi culture now?
